A brand-new boiler can make the winter tolerable

An efficient gas central heating system is the best way to get rid of the chill of the winter nights. By centrally heating your house, you can make it more comfortable, inviting and relaxing.

In general, two types of gas central heating systems exist, one that’s pumped and the other with a vented system; but a gas boiler, central heating radiator and pipework make up the elements of most heaters.

The most frequently used system of the two is probably the pumped systems, these comprise of a feed and expansion tank, which works by the boiler heating up which then distributes the heat through the pipes to the heaters. Provision is made for water to be filled in the expansion tank tank as well as for expansion of the heated water.

In contrast, Sealed systems eliminate this primary water tank section. It’s basically closed, so there is really no need for any water tanks and the space they require. Chief advantages of vented systems are: there is no risk of leaking water tank; major problems like airlocks are also not associated with such systems; moreover, they are specifically useful in cold countries because there is no risk of freezing pipes.

So the question now is, why do we need central heating? Is it really required?.

The simple answer is that it will allow you to heat your entire house or office quickly without compromising the air quality. Electric fires, gas and storage heaters were the types used in the old days. However, these older heating methods make the air sticky and hard, and can also emit an unpleasant smell.

These air quality issues were eliminated by gas central heating; but such a preferred environment can be ensured only by periodic servicing of the central heating system to keep it running efficiently and safely. Many families only use their gas central heating during the cold months and leave them entirely unused during the summer, this is a common error. Instead, you should start using the central heating system during the autumn season so that if any problem comes to the fore, you can call the engineer and get it rectified before the winter.

Furthermore, some of these systems also give admission to air and dirt; therefore emptying is a necessity, which should be done regularly with an annual service schedule. The best way to do this is to place a bucket underneath the drain valve and slowly open it to release the water, but just make sure that no more air or dirt is making its way in.
