Central Heating systems come in various configurations. Most if not all of these Central Heating Systems comprise of a gas boiler, some central heating radiators and connecting pipework.

Air conditioning is not a priority for residents of Europe and northern countries as these regions experience cold weather most of the year with short duration summertimes. In fact, a decent central heating system is a necessity in these regions, and due to this, a majority of new houses have a Central Heating system.

With the onset of winter, heating becomes crucial to warming your home. Only then you can relax and feel cosy inside your home. For this, you need a reliable gas boiler in your Gas Central Heating system. You should feel that your Gas Central Heating System is safe, easy to use and long lasting.

Central Heating system can be divided into two broad classes, pumped/vented systems and sealed systems.

The vented/pumped one is more common of the two. The pumped/vented Central Heating Systems have an expansion tank and a feed. Hot water from the storage tank supplies your kitchen and bath while also heating up the heating radiators. The tank makes way for any water expansion that is caused by the heating process. The tank is positioned at the point of maximum height, usually in the attic area to create water pressure. It serves a dual purpose by heating the house and also supplying heated water.

Many homes feature a pumped/vented Central Heating System, particularly the ones constructed several year ago.

A sealed system is now being used in the new houses that are being built. No water tanks are needed with the sealed system. There are no tanks or pipework in the attic, the whole system is sealed, its unvented, which has its benefits:.

- As there are no pipes, they cannot freeze up in the loft.

- attic space is freed up and pipe maintenance is reduced.

- Reduces the risk of leaking.

- As there are no open vents, air cannot enter into the system and so the risk of corroding, air locks and sludge is drastically cut.

- Can be easily rinsed out under pressure via the main water supply.

All the required controls and safety devices are incorporated into the sealed Gas Central Heating systems. No tank feeds a sealed system, the supply comes directly from the mains. The mains water goes direct to the sealed system.

A pressure vessel containing compressed gas, which is kept separate from the sealed system by a diaphragm, is used to allow any pressure variations. If the pressure becomes too high in a sealed Gas Central Heating System; a safety valve will allow water to escape from the system and if the pressure drops too low a valve will open to refill the system with water.

As compared to other heating systems, Central Heating systems are cheaper to run. Moreover, they offer all kinds of control, which are usually not found in other heating systems giving you a more pleasant environment.
